Located in the inner city, 4km north from the city centre & neighbouring Fitzroy & Carlton is frenetic Brunswick, characterized by the insanely busy commercial strip of Sydney Rd which includes a vast array of great eclectic, cheap eating spots.  If you want to experience a round the world trip within half a day, just hop on a tram to Brunswick and stroll along furiously paced Sydney Road.  Its always had an authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavour. Brunswick is burgeoning with interesting, unaffected eating options. There are two hubs: Sydney Road and Lygon Street.

Spend a day exploring Sydney Road including the Meditteranean Wholesalers to brush up on your Italian and poke around the shelves for Italian food specialties. Sydney Road is busy and vibrant like New York, trendy and jazzy like Paris, aromatic and charming like the Middle East, and diverse and cultural like India and South East Asia.  When you have exhausted Sydney Road, head over to Lygon Street in Carlton for different flavours again or try Brunswick Street,  Fitzroy,  a neighboring location with its fair share of cafes, restaurants and interesting shops.
