Wander past the buskers in The Mall in Bourke Street and step into Melbourne’s favourite department stores, Myer and David Jones where you can purchase anything from fabulous fashion to food and furniture. In the charming old arcades nearby, you’ll discover a fascinating array of giftware, clothing and souvenir shops and small cafes.
When you have had enough culture and shopping, there’s always the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens to enjoy a stroll or the Melbourne City Baths where you can have a swim, play squash or use the gymnasium.
You can catch the latest show at the historic Regent theatre or the Arts Centre and then have a late night meal in Chinatown.
